Bonnie Cochrane

Bonnie is a passionate healthcare leader whose focus is quality, innovation and patient experience.
She is a registered nurse with a Master of Science degree (M.Sc.) and Six Sigma Black Belt
designation with more than 40 years of healthcare experience. From early clinical experiences
delivering patient care as a critical care nurse, her progressive career has expanded to involve population-level quality outcome improvements. After years of leading large, transformational change initiatives, Bonnie’s current focus is on creating and sustaining health system improvements, thereby making healthcare better for employees, physicians and patients.

In her role as a healthcare executive and coach, through implementing fundamentals for alignment, accountability and standard leader work, Bonnie has supported executive teams and leaders to achieve improvements in employee and physician engagement, patient quality, safety and overall experience. Prior to joining Huron | Studer Group in 2013, Bonnie was responsible for strategic provincial information systems in Newfoundland & Labrador, including telehealth, picture archiving and communication system (PACS), the pharmacy network and other components of the integrated electronic health record (iEHR). Bonnie also spent many years working in population health outcomes research after her clinical career in critical care and cardiology research. She brings a rich, diverse background and perspective.

  • Make future career decisions so that you are moving towards something that is exciting, rather than running away from something
  • If everything is a priority, nothing is a priority. Leaders should be more action-oriented and simplify things.
