Interim CEO, Home & Community Care Support Services

Donna Cripps is the Interim CEO for Home and Community Care Support Services. Her previous roles included the Transitional Lead of Home and Community Care for Ontario Health and the CEO of the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant (HNHB) Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). As CEO of the HNHB LHIN, Donna led the planning, funding, and integration of the health care system and management and delivery of home and community care across Hamilton, Niagara, Haldimand, Brant, Burlington and Norfolk. Donna has extensive experience in clinical practice and executive leadership, holding key roles including former President of Hamilton Health Sciences’ St. Peter’s Hospital. She is also involved in many regional and provincial initiatives.

Donna’s commitment to putting people first and to the ongoing pursuit of excellence in caring are her driving forces. Here are three takeaways:

  • As a leader, it’s so important to stop and think. Take a breath, go for a walk, and block time in your calendar to think
  • Honesty of words and consistency of actions are most important for leaders in times of uncertainty and ambiguity. It’s okay to say “I’m sorry I don’t know”
  • “Consider at the end of each day, is anyone happier because you passed their way?” Reflect back on your day and how you spent your time.
