Shirlee Sharkey is both a pioneer and a futurist. As a registered nurse and the longstanding CEO of SE Health, a social enterprise, she has dedicated her career to empowering people, championing compassion and advancing social innovation to impact how people live and age at home. Under Shirlee’s leadership, SE Health has enjoyed exponential growth and expansion, and facilitated transformative solutions in areas such as Indigenous health, end of life care, and caregiver wellness and support. Today, the not-for-profit charitable family of companies delivers over 20,000 care exchanges daily through its team of 9,000 leaders and professionals.

Shirlee’s personal commitment to community advancement is evident in her leadership and involvement on many boards, ranging from health to education. She is sought-after to speak nationally and internationally, and is widely published on home and community-based care, health transformation, social innovation and breakthrough leadership. Committed to global influence, Shirlee has gained and shared health system insights through her experiences in the Middle East, Australia and northern Europe. In 2017, she was presented with an honourary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
